Sunday Races

The GTSC offers up to 6 club races per year.  Participant must be registered for Learn to Ski, a Ski Clinic , or the Middle School Race Team to participate in Sunday races.

All children must be able to use a tow rope and ski unattended to participate.

All children must bring and wear a ski helmet and bring their own or rental skis and boots.

All racers must wear their assigned GTSC issued, numbered race bib for each race. In the event a racer wishes to race but has forgotten their race bib, a disposable race bib may be purchased for that race at a cost of $5.00. Racers without GTSC approved race bibs indicating their assigned number will not be permitted to race.

If you believe your child may have an interest in participating in even one race, whether early on or a later date, it is highly recommended that race registration for the season occur before the first race (deadline: Wednesday, Jan 5, 2011, 5pm). Race registration and/or payment for race participation for the season is due by 5pm the Wednesday before the child’s first race. No exceptions.

Sunday race course inspection (when children have an op- portunity to slide slowly through the course to become familiar with gate location) is at 12:30 p.m. Races start promptly at 1:00 p.m. and end approx. at 3:30 p.m. Racers run two runs each on both slalom and giant slalom courses.

Racers have an opportunity to qualify for regional ski invitationals against other ski clubs. Sunday Race participants who participate in at least 3 races, are invited to an end of season Awards Day with trophies, ribbons and festivities.
